The Podreview: What Is Pride Passion Pressure

The Podcast

I've been in the Beauty Industry licensed since 2007; I graduated from a Barber Cosmetology technical college, Back in my hometown of Wisconsin. I started doing hair at the age of 12, making money by the age of 16, what we all know as "kitchen hair." I love everything about the Beauty Industry Hair, Makeup, and Fashion. It has always been a part of my life, ever since I was young. I can remember at ten years old making clothes for my Barbie dolls and wearing press-on nails. I have never grown out of that girly girly phase and the enjoyment of the Beauty Industry. I want to give my fellow Beauty Industry peers their flowers. Because I've noticed that we don't get the validation we deserve. As the ones that get you ready for a Job interview, promotion, weddings, fancy events, just because it makes you feel good. Etc I want to give you insight in this industry. And of course I wouldn't be human if I didn't discuss Love and oh how I love, love. Good love, bad love in between, love. LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE and LIVING SINGLE!! THIS IS PRIDE PASSION PRESSURE THE PODCAST. with a twist of reality. A mindset of manifesting. A dose of proper Beauty etiquettes and a teacup of empowerment. For pride passion, pressure and most of all respect, and de as a professional beauty artist #candyjae

WHAT DOES PRIDE, PASSION AND PRESSURE MEAN TO ME?

Pride
• Celebrating accomplishments, experiences and achievements with great confidence
Passion
• The essence of love, devotion to one's desire and of course for me the artistry of the Beauty Industry
Pressure
• Like a Diamond, being made. The pressure you obtain, elevates you to become who you truly are...

Aggresion

Don’t minimize my aggression because it’s filled with melanin

My aggression is defined by my melanin

When my grandmother, great grandmother, her mother along with her brother and their

sister oppressed, enslaved, shackled and chained, noose around thine neck

Just another common Negro face, depressed.

Raped. Unjust. Ill treatment, Distressed. Shamed. Blamed and victimized

Anguish continues to live in my aggression due to the lack of freedom

My ancestors was robbed upon

Your judgment relied on ad-hominem abuse with abstract thinking

And never once adhered to the common facts

My melanin defines my aggression.

The tyranny never ended, it only reformed to the modern century.

Diary of an angry black woman, they say with nothing nice to say

As she walks sophisticated and confident with elegance

Her crown could never fall to the ground.

Uppity yes! And don’t you repeat it unless your melanin is darker than mine

My melanin is the product of what my ancestors slaved hard for!

Picked the cotton that you clothe on your bare back ‘til this day

The rice and sugar carbs you consume when made ends-meet

‘til this day

Don't mistake my Bailiwick for entertainment

Especially when everything I own I worked hard for

My aggression is my protection!

Shielding me when society continues to prejudge me

Action speaks louder than words!

And mama always said if you aint got nothing nice to say don’t say nothing at all

I bury my head in books ‘cuz self-education is what keeps me freed

When revealed the unknown becomes an inflection point

Gaining knowledge and overcoming negativity is key.

My inner warrior queen taunts me to be all that I can be!

Criminalized, suppressed. Traumatized and exploited.

My mothership only wants to protect melanin brothers

Who are ignorant with pride and them who lack knowledge

Not knowing their worth and what keeps them wise

My aggression is nothing but affection

My melanin defines my aggression.

Only thing to be furious about is what caused oppression!
